Baseball Recap: Swainsboro Beats Thomson for Their Fourth Straight Win

While Swainsboro's win against Thomson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Swainsboro Tigers had just enough and edged out the Thomson Bulldogs 6-5 on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on four straight.

Swainsboro pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Thomson, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.

Looking ahead, Swainsboro will take on Vidalia at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Thomson, they will challenge Laney at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Laney has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something Thomson will no doubt try to take advantage of.
