Recap: Delphi Community Oracles vs. Carroll Cougars
The Delphi Community Oracles suffered their biggest defeat since November 21, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Carroll 70-39. Delphi Community has struggled against Carroll recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Delphi Community lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jenna Roth. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Lacey Pickering was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Carroll's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alli Harness, who scored 22 points along with three steals. Harness has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Wagner, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds and seven assists.
Delphi Community's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Carroll, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Delphi Community won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Peru at 1:30 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Peru focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Wednesday. As for Carroll, they will head out on the road to challenge McCutcheon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McCutcheon will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
