Baseball Game Preview: Douglas County Tigers vs. Carrollton Trojans

Douglas County hasn't had much luck against Carrollton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will host the Trojans at 5:55 p.m.

Douglas County is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game on Thursday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of Chapel Hill.

Styles Bailey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Nayland Patton was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, while Carrollton put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Douglas County. The Trojans put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Carrollton has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.1 runs on average over those games. As for Douglas County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.
