Recap: Linden Lions vs. McNair Eagles
This season hasn't been kind to the Linden Lions, who are still winless after their 13th match. They were beaten by McNair 77-21 on Tuesday. Linden was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-12.
Despite the loss, Linden still got an impressive performance from Jackie Mercer, who scored ten points. Mercer scored a full 47.6% of Linden's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Linden bumped their record down to 0-13 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.8 points per game. As for McNair, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Linden is on the road again on Thursday and play against Chavez at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th. Hopefully Chavez focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday. As for McNair, they will head out on the road to face off against Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
