Baseball Game Preview: Tattnall County Warriors vs. Statesboro Blue Devils

The Tattnall County Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Statesboro Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Tattnall County will bounce into Friday's game after beating Brantley County, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Tattnall County came out on top against Brantley County by a score of 17-14 on Thursday. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Herons on their field since March 30, 2023.

Tattnall County got a massive performance out of Aiden Brock, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run and five RBI. The dominant performance gave Brock a new career-high in RBI. Lane Dutton was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.

Tattnall County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Statesboro waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Gamecocks.

The win made it two in a row for Tattnall County and bumps their season record up to 6-11. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing ten hits in those games compared to only 4.93 in the others. As for Statesboro, their record is now 8-10.
