Softball Recap: Lewis-Palmer Has No Trouble Against Sand Creek

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lewis-Palmer). Everything went their way against the Sand Creek Scorpions on Saturday as they made off with an 18-3 victory. With that win, the Rangers brought their scoring average up to 8.5 runs per game.

Joella Streeter was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and one run. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole McClintock, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lewis-Palmer kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

The victory got Lewis-Palmer back to even at 2-2. As for Sand Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Lewis-Palmer will take on Pueblo West at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sand Creek, they will face off against Woodland Park at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Scorpions are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
