Softball Recap: Langston Hughes Comes Up Short

If Langston Hughes was feeling good fresh off their 18-4 takedown of Morrow on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers came up short against the Newnan Cougars on Tuesday, falling 15-1. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Langston Hughes saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaila Meredith, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Langston Hughes' defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Newnan, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-15 record.

Langston Hughes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newnan, they will square off against Starr's Mill at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
