Baseball Recap: Commerce Takes a Loss

Commerce was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 17-1 to the Banks County Leopards. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Leopards this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-9 loss on Friday.

Commerce's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Banks County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Commerce will face off against Social Circle at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Commerce has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Banks County, they will head out on the road to face off against Rabun County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Banks County's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
