Basketball Recap: Antonia Vlahos Key Part of Team Effort in Gators Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Castilleja walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Mills Vikings 44-41. 44 seems to be a good number for the Gators as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Castilleja's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Antonia Vlahos led the charge by dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Layla Gallon, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and five steals.

Castilleja pushed their record up to 23-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Mills, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-11.

Looking ahead, Castilleja will venture away from home to square off against Lowell at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lowell will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Castilleja surely won't give up without a fight. Mills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
