Softball Recap: Callaway Comes Up Short

If Callaway was feeling good fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Upson-Lee on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cavaliers came up short against the Starr's Mill Panthers on Tuesday, falling 16-1. The Cavaliers haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Callaway saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Monroe Wiggins, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Wiggins has hit this season.

Callaway's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Starr's Mill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Coming up, Callaway will take on LaGrange in a tournament on Saturday. As for Starr's Mill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Griffin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
