Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, South Effingham couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Creekview Grizzlies on Friday. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Danni Lynn was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run.

South Effingham's loss dropped their record down to 25-4. As for Creekview, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-5.

South Effingham didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-5 victory against Veterans on the 1st. Hopefully Creekview paid attention to the Mustangs' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Mustangs at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.
