Softball Recap: Blue Springs Takes a Loss

Blue Springs extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-8. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Blue Springs South Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 on September 15th.

Blue Springs saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keileen Burt, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Blue Springs South, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Blue Springs since October 13, 2022.

On Blue Springs South's side, Kyndall Armstrong spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ella Carmack, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Waters, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Blue Springs didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-4 defeat against Staley on the 1st. As for Blue Springs South, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Raymore-Peculiar on the 1st.
