Soccer Game Preview: Carlsbad vs. Clovis + How To Watch

The Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls will venture away from home to face off against the Clovis Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carlsbad's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Carlsbad fell victim to Hobbs and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 4-0 to the Eagles. While losing is never fun, Carlsbad can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico soccer rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Hobbs are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Clovis, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Roswell 3-2.

Clovis' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three matches. As for Carlsbad, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Carlsbad suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Clovis in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can the Cavemen/Cavegirls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
