Basketball Recap: Cynthia Silva's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Santa Ana over Fullerton

On Tuesday, the Santa Ana Saints were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 31-25 to the Fullerton Indians.

Santa Ana lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Cynthia Silva, who posted five points. Another player making a difference was Jazmine Kalleigh Solis, who had five points.

Santa Ana's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-8. As for Fullerton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Ana will square off against Kennedy at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Kennedy's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Santa Ana has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. As for Fullerton, they will take on Katella on Thursday. Fullerton is facing Katella at the right time seeing as Katella is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
