Basketball Game Preview: William Tennent Panthers vs. MAST Community Charter Panthers

The William Tennent Panthers and the MAST Community Charter Panthers will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. William Tennent is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

William Tennent is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since January 5th on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 65-37 loss at the hands of Cheltenham.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask MAST Community Charter). They enjoyed a cozy 60-43 win over George Washington on Tuesday.

William Tennent better focus on containing Rylie Fitzsimmons and Tierney Hamilton as the pair were huge in MAST Community Charter's win. Fitzsimmons dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Hamilton posted ten points along with six steals and five boards. Fitzsimmons has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Lena Mulray was another key player, putting up five points along with seven assists and five steals.

MAST Community Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

MAST Community Charter's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for William Tennent, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

William Tennent beat MAST Community Charter 56-49 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was MAST Community Charter's Anye Washington, who almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine steals.
