Volleyball Recap: Leading Edge Academy - GEC Comes Up Short

Leading Edge Academy - GEC was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Gilbert Classical Academy, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Leading Edge Academy - GEC of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-8, 25-11.

Gilbert Classical Academy was led to victory by Ava Fay and Mary Maguire. Fay had nine digs and three aces, while Maguire had four aces. Those four aces gave Maguire a new career-high.

Leading Edge Academy - GEC's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.

Leading Edge Academy - GEC does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, they will take on Northland Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
