Basketball Recap: Clarion-Limestone Extends Winning Streak to Three

Clarion-Limestone had won two straight games and Hannah Beggs did her part to make it three on Monday. The Clarion-Limestone Lions enjoyed a cozy 50-31 victory over the Johnsonburg Rams thanks in part to Beggs, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 16 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. She has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Kalyssa Ferguson, who posted five points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those four steals gave her a new career-high.

Clarion-Limestone is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Johnsonburg, their loss was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clarion-Limestone won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Clarion Area at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarion-Limestone is facing Clarion Area at the right time seeing as Clarion Area is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Johnsonburg, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against DuBois Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. DuBois Central Catholic will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Johnsonburg surely won't give up without a fight.
