The Academy of Careers & Exploration Eagle's's seven-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 37-14 margin over Apple Valley Christian. That 37-14 margin sets a new team best for Academy of Careers & Exploration this season.
Academy of Careers & Exploration found their leader in underclassman Sarah Powell, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Powell has scored at least 25% of Academy of Careers & Exploration's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bethany White, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Academy of Careers & Exploration's victory bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Apple Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy of Careers & Exploration won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Baker at 5:00 p.m. on December 14th. Baker will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Apple Valley Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Lucerne Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
