Softball Recap: Oglethorpe County Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Oglethorpe County had won four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 7-1 to make it five. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Rabun County Wildcats. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 12-4 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

As for Rabun County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games.

For Rabun County's part, Presley Burrell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Anna Loren Mazarky also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Oglethorpe County will square off against rival Providence Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Rabun County is set to take on their familiar foe Elbert County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
