Basketball Recap: University City's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It was a good run, but University City unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 44-33 to Holy Names Academy. The match was a 19-19 toss-up at halftime, but the Centurions couldn't quite close it out.

Several Centurions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Topanga Tusantoso, who posted eight points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Kianna Lefear, who put up 11 points and eight rebounds.

University City's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Holy Names Academy, with the victory, they broke their ten-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-6.

University City and Soldotna will round out the year against one another at at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Soldotna has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Holy Names Academy, they will square off against Paloma Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
