Soccer Recap: Dublin Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Dublin can now relate to. They fell 2-0 to the Cardinal Newman Cardinals on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Gaels came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Cardinals are ranked 326th).

Dublin's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Cardinal Newman, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Dublin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cardinal Newman, they will square off against Sonoma Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sonoma Academy's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
