Football Recap: Boerne-Champion Takes a Loss

Boerne-Champion lost against Smithson Valley back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Chargers were beaten by the Rangers 41-14. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while the Rangers are ranked 60th).

When it comes to explaining why Boerne-Champion lost, don't look at Brogan Dempsey. Despite the final result, he picked up 174 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Dempsey is crushing it when it comes to receiving yards: he's posted at least 104 every time he's taken the field this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Boerne-Champion and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Smithson Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
