Basketball Recap: Ava Allen and Ruiqi Liu Secure Win for Menlo School

Menlo School lost to Notre Dame back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Menlo School Knights walked away with a 56-48 victory over the Notre Dame Regents.

Leading Menlo School to victory were Ruiqi Liu and Ava Allen. Liu posted 16 points along with five assists and five boards, while Allen went 5-for-10 to rack up 17 points and eight rebounds. Liu's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Karen Xin was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.

Menlo School's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Notre Dame, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

Menlo School and Notre Dame should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Menlo School (ranked 116th) will meet Pacific Grove (ranked 329th) at 7:00 p.m. on February 25th. Menlo School is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Notre Dame will take on Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on February 25th up 242 places (166 vs. 408).
