Football Game Preview: St. Mary's-Colgan Panthers vs. Rossville Bulldogs + Official Tickets

St. Mary's-Colgan is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Rossville is on a seven-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Panthers will host the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Mary's-Colgan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Rossville likes a good challenge.

St. Mary's-Colgan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Troy get on the board and left with a 56-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Trojans are ranked 127th).

Meanwhile, Rossville's offense rose to the challenge against a Chargers defense that boasted an average of only 14.8 points allowed on Friday. The Bulldogs took their contest with ease, bagging a 53-18 victory over Jefferson County North. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 35 points or more this season.

St. Mary's-Colgan better keep an eye on Canann Mitchell. He was instrumental in Rossville's win, rushing for 137 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 127 yards and one TD while completing 78.6% of his passes. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Mitchell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andre Johnson, who gained 66 total yards and three touchdowns.

Rossville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 326 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 250 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups.

St. Mary's-Colgan's record now sits at 10-0. As for Rossville, their record is now 9-1.

St. Mary's-Colgan took a serious blow against Rossville in their previous meeting back in November of 2020, falling 56-7. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Panthers were down 56-0.
