Softball Game Preview: North Cobb Christian Eagles vs. Paulding County Patriots

The North Cobb Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Paulding County Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Cobb Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Paulding County will be coming in after a defeat.

North Cobb Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over King's Ridge Christian.

The team relied heavily on Faith Sonnenberg, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Molly Edwards, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Paulding County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sprayberry.

Paulding County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Puckett, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Puckett has launched this season. Abbey Parish was another, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

North Cobb Christian pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Paulding County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
