Baseball Recap: Baconton Charter Blazers vs. Lanier County Bulldogs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Baconton Charter can now relate to. They fell 10-6 to the Lanier County Bulldogs on Tuesday. Baconton Charter was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lanier County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Monday.

Hudson Coronati was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Scott Oliver, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

On Lanier County's side, ASHTON COOK spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Lanier County let Alex Contreras and HAYDEN MULLIS loose on the outfield. Contreras scored a run while going 3-for-4, while MULLIS went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double. Another player making a difference was STONE CAREY, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

Baconton Charter's loss dropped their record down to 26-4. As for Lanier County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 26-8 record this season.
