Recap: East Union Lancers vs. Kimball Jaguars

The East Union Lancers waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with 12 straight wins but they left with 13. They strolled past Kimball with points to spare, taking the game 55-40. 55 seems to be a good number for East Union as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Union to victory, but perhaps none more so than Donnese Payne, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds. Payne is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nylah Dyson, who scored 14 points along with two steals.

Kimball lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Emma Coronado, who scored 15 points. Sierra Tuliau was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

East Union has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Kimball, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Union will square off against Oakdale at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oakdale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 734th, while East Union is ranked 129th). Kimball's road trip will continue as they head out to face Manteca at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Manteca is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.3 points per game.
