Basketball Recap: Big Valley Comes Up Short

Big Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by the Tulelake Honkers 49-17. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Honkers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

McKenna Fine had an outrageously good game for Tulelake as she went 10 of 18 en route to 20 points and three steals. That's the most steals Fine has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alejandra Perez, who posted six points in addition to eight boards and four blocks.

Big Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Tulelake, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Big Valley has already played their next contest, a 56-11 defeat against Hayfork on the 17th. As for Tulelake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-43 loss against Lost River on the 15th.
