Basketball Game Preview: Irvington Vikings vs. James Logan Colts

Irvington is 1-9 against James Logan since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Irvington Vikings will square off against the James Logan Colts at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Irvington fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Newark Memorial on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 31-30 to the Cougars. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row.

Meanwhile, James Logan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 59-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of American.

Irvington will have to contain Iwalani Lealao as she made an impact in James Logan's last game. She went 6 of 9 en route to 20 points along with five boards and three steals. That was a full 41.7% of James Logan's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Muniz, who had ten points and five rebounds.

James Logan's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Irvington, their loss dropped their record down to 4-18.
