Palos Verdes finds home court redemption against Kennedy

There's no place like home for the Palos Verdes Sea Kings, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 57-46 victory over Kennedy on Saturday. Given Palos Verdes' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 197th, while Kennedy is ranked 602nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kennedy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riyin Stewart, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madeleine Hsu, who scored 11 points along with two steals and two blocks.

Palos Verdes pushed their record up to 16-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Kennedy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

Palos Verdes will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Peninsula at 5:30 p.m. As for Kennedy, they will head out on the road to square off against Pacifica at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
