Santa Maria had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Carpinteria Warriors by a score of 50-41 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won seven in a row.

Aaliyah Juarez was a one-woman wrecking crew as she dropped a double-double with 27 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Suzanna Tellez, who posted four points and 14 boards.
