Softball Game Preview: Bethany Bronchos vs. Chisholm Longhorns

The Bethany Bronchos are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on the Chisholm Longhorns at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Bethany is leaving town to face Chisholm after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Bronchos fell 6-2 to Kingfisher on Tuesday. Bronchos fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Yellowjackets since Tuesday.

Jayda Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits.

On the hitting side, Emma Buxton was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jules Barger, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Chisholm was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 21-1 to Alva.

Everything went Bethany's way against Chisholm in their previous matchup back in August of 2024, as Bethany made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bronchos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
