Baseball Recap: Covenant Academy Finds Home Field Redemption Against John Hancock Academy

There's no place like home for Covenant Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past the John Hancock Academy Rebels 6-0 on Monday. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered an 8-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Not much got past Ethan Mills, who gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep John Hancock Academy off the board. Mills also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Covenant Academy is 4-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 5-10 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hayden Korink, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Covenant Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 5-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Asa Wood, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Covenant Academy's record is now 9-12. As for John Hancock Academy, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11.

Covenant Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rebels: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
