Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 16 to 5 on the offensive boards, a fact Upper Merion Area proved on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-36 win over Collegium Charter. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Upper Merion Area.
Upper Merion Area's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Levayda Fuqua, who scored 16 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fuqua has scored at least 25% of Upper Merion Area's points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Smith, who scored seven points along with 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Chichester's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a serious blow against Avon Grove, falling 46-14.
Upper Merion Area now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Chichester, they bumped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
