Basketball Game Preview: Lick-Wilmerding Tigers vs. Saint Mary's Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lick-Wilmerding Tigers take on the Saint Mary's Panthers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday... Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lick-Wilmerding saw some tournament action on Monday. They fell 57-50 to Arcata.

Meanwhile, Saint Mary's came up short against Punahou on Monday and fell 53-42. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 181st in California, while the Buff n' Blue are ranked sixth in Hawaii).

Lick-Wilmerding now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Saint Mary's, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Lick-Wilmerding came up short against Saint Mary's when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 64-60. Can Lick-Wilmerding avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
