After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against East Mountain, Cottonwood Classical Prep was happy to have turned things around  on Saturday. They walked away with  a   3-1  win over the Oak Grove Classical Academy Owls.  Lynex Locke had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Cottonwood Classical Prep.
 Cottonwood Classical Prep was without their leading scorer,  Mathias George, in Saturday's   matchup. With  George sidelined, the Coyotes had to make some big changes to the lineup. Three players got more time on the pitch than they're used to:  George Patterson (62),  Liam Hein (80), and  James Hacsi (61). The trio had averaged 25.4, 52.1, and 33.4 minutes respectively before Saturday's   contest. Patterson made the most of the opportunity,  putting up one  assist  A few more games like that and  he might be seeing even more time going forward.
With the  victory, Cottonwood Classical Prep broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 8-8-1. As for Oak Grove Classical Academy, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record  this season.
 Cottonwood Classical Prep will look to defend their home pitch  on Tuesday against Sandia Prep  at 4:00  p.m. Cottonwood Classical Prep's defense better be ready for this one: Sandia Prep have averaged an impressive 3.2  goals per game this season. As for Oak Grove Classical Academy, they are taking a road trip to  face off against Bosque  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
