Basketball Game Preview: El Segundo Eagles vs. California Academy of Math & Science Coyotes

The El Segundo Eagles will face off against the California Academy of Math & Science Coyotes at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. El Segundo is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

On Tuesday, El Segundo earned a 47-34 win over Wiseburn- Da Vinci. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Wolves are ranked 807th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, California Academy of Math & Science didn't have too much breathing room in their game against San Pedro back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 37-32 victory.

El Segundo's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for California Academy of Math & Science, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.

El Segundo took their win against California Academy of Math & Science in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 57-31.
