Basketball Recap: Hamilton Skates Past Williams with Ease

There's no place like home for Hamilton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They really took it to the Williams Yellowjackets for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-23 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Braves considering their 18-point performance the match before.

Leading Hamilton to victory were Ally Odom and Isabella Lozano. Odom went 7 for 14 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds, while Lozano went 6 of 10 on her way to 14 points and six boards. Those eight boards gave Odom a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isabel Rivera, who posted five points and five rebounds.

Hamilton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jennifer Vega Jimenez, who earned nine points. Giselle Torres Salazar was another key player, putting up six points.

Hamilton's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14. As for Williams, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton will challenge Portola at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Williams, they will square off against Quincy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Quincy will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Williams surely won't give up without a fight.
