Baseball Recap: Colquitt County Packers vs. Brookwood Broncos
Colquitt County and Brookwood squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly Colquitt County had to settle for second. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brookwood Broncos. Colquitt County just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
For Brookwood's part, Clinton Harris looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk).
On the hitting side, Alex Reyes was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Boomer Rogozinski was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Colquitt County's loss dropped their record down to 14-17. As for Brookwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won 19 of their last 24 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season.
