Volleyball Recap: Redwood Wins Going Away Against El Diamante

Redwood not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 28th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the El Diamante Miners. The Rangers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Miners, too.

One reason for the win was Redwood's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-12, 25-8.

Katelynn May paced Redwood's offense, picking up 25 kills. May got some help from Elise Minnick and her 22 assists. May was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

When it comes to explaining why El Diamante lost, don't look at Diamond Palomo. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs. Palomo is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Redwood is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season. As for El Diamante, they moved to 16-3 with that loss, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.

Redwood has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Golden West on the 22nd. As for El Diamante, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Porterville on the 22nd.
