Fox has gone a perfect 4-0 against DeSoto recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dragons at 3:00 p.m. Fox will be strutting in after a win while DeSoto will be coming in after a defeat.
Fox will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Oakville, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 6-3 on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Avery McKinnon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Maddie Baldridge was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
Meanwhile, DeSoto fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Saxony Lutheran on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 4-3. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Fox's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for DeSoto, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
