Basketball Recap: Pioneer Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

If River City wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pioneer, they should've done a better job of containing Peyton Thorpe. Everything went the Pioneer Patriots' way against the River City Raiders on Tuesday as the Pioneer Patriots made off with a 44-20 victory thanks in part to Thorpe, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in steals (four).

Marissa Bautista was another key player, putting up two points along with eight boards and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 12 games she's played.

Pioneer has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season. As for River City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-16.

Pioneer will square off against Vacaville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for River City, they will take on Vanden at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Vanden will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something River City surely won't give up without a fight.
