Basketball Recap: Hawthorne Comes Up Short

Hawthorne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Santa Monica Vikings, falling 50-2. The Cougars were probably out for revenge after losing 56-24 to them when the teams met back in January of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hawthorne's record now sits at 1-10. As for Santa Monica, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Hawthorne Cougars take on the Lawndale Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lawndale will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Hawthorne surely won't give up without a fight. Santa Monica does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
