Softball Recap: North Rock Creek Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

North Rock Creek extended their winning streak to eight on Saturday, bumping them up to 16-3. They blew past the McLoud Redskins 15-5. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

As for McLoud, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this matchup were averaging three runs allowed.

For McLoud's part, Avery Soward and Miley Hicklin did some serious damage despite the final result: Soward went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Hicklin went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was Hicklin's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayse Higdon, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Coincidentally, North Rock Creek and McLoud will both be playing Mannford the next time they take the field. The Cougars will head out to face the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Redskins will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
