Recap: Xavier Prep Saints vs. Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets
The Xavier Prep Saints put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Palo Verde Valley 59-29 at home. The result was nothing new for Xavier Prep, who have now won three matchups by 30 points or more so far this season.
Amoree Ferrel was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with 8 assists and 5 rebounds. The matchup was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Thomsen, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
Defeat or not, Palo Verde Valley got some senior leadership from Charlotte Dagnino who scored 5 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals and Maryjane Dagnino who scored 13 points.
Xavier Prep's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Palo Verde Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Xavier Prep won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Holtville at 6:05 p.m. on December 1st. Holtville comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Palo Verde Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Brawley at 4:35 p.m. on Friday.
