Soccer Game Preview: St. Anthony vs. Mary Star of the Sea

The St. Anthony Saints will face off against the Mary Star of the Sea Stars at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. St. Anthony will be strutting in after a win while Mary Star of the Sea will be coming in after a loss.

If Mary Star of the Sea heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when St. Anthony took over last week. St. Anthony had just enough and edged Ramona Convent out 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Saints.

Jeweliana Moreno and Paloma Toscano scored both of St. Anthony's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Mary Star of the Sea was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Bishop Montgomery, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for the Stars seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in December of 2024.

St. Anthony's victory bumped their record up to 4-1-1. As for Mary Star of the Sea, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

St. Anthony might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Mary Star of the Sea in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can St. Anthony avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
