Adelanto piles up the points against Barstow

Recap: Adelanto Saints vs. Barstow Aztecs

The Adelanto Saints posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. They blew past Barstow, posting a 73-31 victory at home. Given Adelanto's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 460th, while Barstow is ranked 974th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Adelanto had a senior duo take command as Nina Lacy dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds and Heavenly Alexander scored 19 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Alexander has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jamiya Cantrell, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Adelanto has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Barstow, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Adelanto will face off against Granite Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Granite Hills is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Barstow, they will head out on the road to square off against Victor Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Victor Valley is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
