Basketball Game Preview: Legacy Tigers vs. South East Jaguars

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Legacy Tigers duke it out with the South East Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday... Legacy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Wednesday, Legacy humbled Bell with a 43-14 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Legacy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alyssa Casillas out in front who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Kazey Cruz, who earned ten points.

Meanwhile, South East was beaten by Garfield 90-30 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 843rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 167th).

Legacy pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for South East, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

Everything came up roses for Legacy against South East when the teams last played on Monday, as the team secured a 73-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Legacy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
