After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cedartown, Hiram was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Dalton Catamounts. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 15-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Faith Matthews made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Matthews was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Lily Martinez was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Dannielyn Smith, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
