Basketball Recap: Northgate Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Northgate had won five straight home games dating back to last season and Ava Nicolas did her part to make it six on Tuesday. The Northgate Broncos skirted past the Pittsburg Pirates 48-45 thanks in part to Nicolas, who posted 16 points along with five boards and five steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Maddison Sardelich was another key player, putting up three points and ten rebounds. Sardelich is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Northgate's record is now 8-1. As for Pittsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northgate will venture away from home to face off against Granada at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northgate is facing Granada at the right time seeing as Granada is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Pittsburg, they are taking a road trip to square off against Tamalpais at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
